SRF Crew immerses themselves in Surgical Training and Research

SRF crew delves into the innovative world of surgical training and research at OR-X.

During their visit to OR-X, the film crew had the opportunity to experience new technical developments for surgical training in action, such as a new Augmented Reality-based training. The AR-training is part of the Surgical PROFICIENCY project. It was developed to provide future surgeons opportunities to train self-paced and in a safe environment. The 5-minute film clip offers an exciting look behind the scenes of the OR-X and a unique insight into some of the ongoing research projects.

The OR-X premises are also used for the development and testing of multisensory robots as part of the EU Horizon project FAROS. The projetc aims at improving functional accuracy through embedding physical intelligence in surgical robotics. A robotic ultrasound using a KUKA robot was also filmed for the TV feature to showcase the latest advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
